Description: This is the second collaboration with Nevel Artisan Ales, our favourite brewery on the banks of the river Waal. In 2016 we brewed Loan Shark (stock pale ale) in their brewery, in 2017 we invited them over to Utrecht. A bit bolder and in keeping with the theme of aged beers (loosely) based on historic styles, we brewed a keeping porter. It is primary fermented with Fullers yeast and had a secondary fermentation with Brettanomyces Lambicus on Rioja barrels, in which it aged for over a year. The result is a luxurious and smooth porter with a definite vinous quality, both from the barrel and the yeast. A beer to savour, whether now or in 5 years.
