Description: 22 months ago, following its overnight boil, we took our triple mash imperial stout, and filled an Old Rip Van Winkle barrel. In the last few months prior to its release, we added whole bean Vanuatu vanilla to the barrel and then conditioned the liquid on biodynamic Emperor’s coconut. Aromas of soaked coconut snowballs and Swiss chocolate cocoa waft up before a palate-coating mouthfeel leads into flavors of dark chocolate chip cookie dough, coconut chocolate milkshake, caramel butterscotch brownie batter, and boozy fig syrup atop vanilla ice cream and a touch of sassy vanilla root beer. Layers and layers of flavors morph into a smooth Rolo’s finish met with a booze-soaked high octane vanilla char note and bakers chocolate for balance.
