Description: Noble Knight, our April Special, brewer to celebrate St. George's Day, April 23rd. It is named through a misquotation of the GK Chesterton poem "The Englishman", the first of which is:- St George he was for England. And before he killed the dragon He drank a pint of English ale Out of an English flagon. For though he fast right readily In hair-shirt or in mail. It isn't safe to give him cakes Unless you give him ale. The head brewer remembers from the days he was a yound lad in Bristol, a wonderful pub (at that time) was the Richmond Spring in Clifton where the first lines of this poem were painted on the wall of one the bars. He is sure that it went -"St George, he was a Noble Knight.....". It is doubtful that it's still there but if anyone can corroborate this, there's a free pint to be had. Anyway, about the beer - 3.9% traditional bitter with flavour and aroma from good English Bramling Cross hops. It's a wonderful session beer of the kind we used to drink.
