Description: Brewed at the Propagator. Loftus Ranches and Hopunion have created Ales for ALS to support a very worthy cause - ALS research. They have offered participating brewers, including us at Firestone Walker, access to a proprietary hop blend, free of charge, in exchange for participation in Ales for ALSTM. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that leads to paralysis, due to the death of motor neurons in the spinal cord and brain. Each beer brewed with this hop blend will donate a portion of sales to ALS TDI, the world leader in ALS research. Comprising this year’s blend are 4 experimental hop varieties including HBC 344, 431, 472, and 568, along with Loral and Citra. Expect big earthy pine, grapefruit rind, and a clean finish. For this recipe, we used the same malt bill as our Single Hop Series Pale Ale, with slight variations to the hopping schedule.
