Description: Created for AZ Beer Week 2011, resurrected for AZ Beer Week 2014. Double red ales are a high octane combination of a red ale and an IPA. In other words, double reds have the pronounced caramel malt flavors of a red ale and the intense hoppy flavor and aroma of an IPA. Ours is unique, however, because we added hops to each vessel: mash tun, kettle, whirlpool, hopback, and fermenter. So, saying that it’s going to be hoppy may be an understatement… (Warning: geek content) Diablo Rojo weighs in around 9.2% alcohol with 70 IBUs and is 13 SRM. For everyone else, that means it’s strong, hoppy, and has a deep ruby-red color.
