Description: Våronna (translation: “spring farm work”), our Norwegian-Style Farmhouse Ale is made with Connecticut-grown ingredients including sweet gale from our land, spruce tips from Tiny Acre Farm and Thrall Family Malt. While each such ingredient was sourced within a small, 50-mile radius, the sum of the parts was very much inspired by Nordic sensibilities. Co-fermented with a combination of our own house culture and Voss kveik, a unique Norwegian farmhouse yeast strain, this special expression was further aged in uniquely characterful gin-barrels that had previously held Zinfandel wine. What emerged from the oak was decidedly different than what went in - the botanical qualities shifting and evolving in beautiful and unexpected ways.
