Description: Dark and devilish as the night is long, this full-bodied stout has more than a hint of chocolate and a rich, espresso nose. No less than ten varieties of grain, including chocolate and roasted malt, make this a smooth-drinking stout that pairs well with desserts, although it’s a dessert in itself! Take it home in a growler and try it with a moist chocolate cake to really bring out the flavor. Our stout is named after one of the highest points in eastern Iowa, the Devil’s Backbone in Backbone State Park located north of Manchester. It is one of our favorite places to hike in the state.
