Description: Brewed on 2/2/2015 this beer was the result of the annual dart throw to determine the style of Belgian beer the brewer would make for the Portland Cheers to Belgian Beers celebration on 5/8/2015. A full-on group effort with Alex Graham throwing the dart for our favorite style pick: Dark and Strong. Alex handed off to Warren Johnson who thought up this incredible recipe using Pilsner malt supplemented with Palm Sugar, Special B, and Carafa III then topped it off by propagating 2L of the chosen yeast for the beer: Belgian Abby II. Rich Hawthorne brewed the beer and the result was fermented until dry and then aged in an oak whiskey barrel producing the Dart Throw Belgian Dark Strong.
