Description: Custom blended by head brewer, Brian Nelson, Hardywood First Anniversary Ale celebrates the end of the brewery's first full year in business. This blend consists of three bourbon barrel aged beers, 40% 2011 imperial milk stout, 40% 2012 imperial milk stout, and 20% 2012 Virginia Blackberry, and offers rich yet mellow flavors of creamy chocolate, oaky vanilla and a hint of bramble berry. A wax-dipped bottle of this unpasteurized ale was exceptional at the time of bottling, but will continue to round out with months, or possibly even years of cellaring.
