Description: A collaboration between us and our good friends at Lost Cause Meadery in San Diego, this mead combines the best elements of what we both do well. Hold honey, deep dark fruit, and barrel aging. Made with 2 types of buckwheat (Western and Eastern), 3 types of cherries (Dark, Sweet, and Tart), then aged in both steel and bourbon barrels (60/40 blended) this members-only bottle is full bodied, sweet, and like no mead we have made before. The combination of buckwheat varietals allowed for a floral and funky/Belgian-esque base, while the combined cherries and residual sugar leave your palate believing you just tasted a fine port wine.
