Description: So in version 14 of the 4D we were expecting guest brewers and wanted to make something a little off the beaten path of the IPA category. We’ve brewed India Black Ales so we thought we’d jump head first into it’s cousin the India Brown Ale. The aforementioned guests were some friends visiting from Nashville just out for a Jailhouse Brewing experience. Jim, Wes and Kenny wanted to get their hands dirty so the 3 Amigos was born. This dark brown India ale features a variety of hops and delivers on hop character. The El Dorados can be somewhat pungent and overbearing so we chose to use them with caution. What we ended up with was licorice, pine and citrus notes mixed with a very distinctive hop aroma and flavor profile. There is most definitely a piney resin flavor that leaves your palate thirsty for another sip.
