Description: To survive the six month journey by sea from Britain to her colonies in India in the late 1700s, a beer was developed that was robust enough to endure the trip without spoiling. Loaded with bitter hops and higher in alcohol, both of which helped preserve the beer... India Pale Ale (IPA) was born. Legend has it that giant squids, monstrous whales, sea serpents and multi-arm beasts sent many of the ships filled with barrels of IPA to a watery grave. A true Nautical Disaster.
