Description: The familiar dry stouts of today use unmalted roasted barley to provide their characteristic dark color, but for many years unmalted barley was banned from brewing in the British Isles. Our dry stout uses both malted and unmalted roasted barley to lend a more chocolaty flavor that would have been familiar to the stout drinkers of the past, topped off by fruity, mild Progress hops. A real hand-pulled sparkler gives a tight, creamy head which is achieved only artificially with modern stouts.
