Description: In Scotland, appointing an Abbot of Unreason, the official in charge of Christmas revelries and the Feast of Fools, is a holiday peasant tradition that can be traced back to Roman times. This dark and oaky Imperial Brown was brewed and barrel aged for four months in McMenamins Hogshead and Billy Whiskey barrels to enhance the smooth flavors of ESB Malt and Rolled Oats in the base beer. The result is a concoction busting at the seams with unreasonable amounts of vanilla, chocolate, and oak character. Slightly tart from the barrel aging process, the complexity of this beer will leave you amazed. Special Techniques: Whiskey Barrel Aged Special Ingredients: Lactose Fruit: Black Mission Figs Malts: ESB, Munich, Rye, Rolled Oats, C150, Pale Chocolate, C60 Hops: Santiam OG: 1.085 TG: 1.024 ABV: 7.87 IBU: 26 SRM: 17
