The whiskey barrel aged version of Pat Garret's spiced porter is a reformed outlaw, a reined-in version of its cousin, the Lord of Misrule. A smooth, rich, and complex malt body serves as the base for the cinnamon sticks and locally kilned Ecuadorian cocoa nibs added to boil. Subtle heat and flavors rise slowly from the 40 Habanero and Serrano peppers added post-fermentation. Five-months spent in a used Hogsheads Whiskey barrel imparted rich vanilla and a parting,spirited bite.
