Description: This collaboration with Australia’s leading heavy music venue, Crowbar, proves that appearances can be deceiving. We wanted to brew a classic Saison but one with a heavy metal influence. This beer was aggressively fermented at a warm 24 degrees using two yeast strains that deliver a light, dry beer with a refreshing level of spice and a hint of orange peel. By using a simple and light malt bill, the real challenge was to brew a dark beer without all the associated roasted flavours. To achieve this, a method of cold steeping darker malts was used to achieve colour without overpowering any of the traditional Saison notes. In the end you find yourself with a thirst quenching beer that has a 6.66% sting in its tail.
