Description: Double Barrel Anaphora showcases the very best qualities of maturation that come from extended aging as well as the nuances of a younger blend that tend to fade with time. The softened edges, the smooth flavors of vanilla, marshmallow and cacao and the silky body develop in the first stage of aging, while the second stage imparts lively accents of spirit, oak and tannin that wake up the blend and breathe new life into it. For this iteration of DBA Anaphora, we selected from a variety of rye whisky and bourbon casks that had aged 24-36 months, blended them and re-barreled theme into freshly dumped rye whisky casks from Kentucky. The re-barreled blend was then allowed to rest for an additional 6 months before being sampled for selection.
