Description: Single Batch Series release 3/31/2015. Free Your Soul is a massive Russian Imperial Stout aged for one year in barrels from the Knob Creek Distillery. Coconut, chocolate, vanilla, and oak intertwine on the nose with notes of vintage bourbon. Starting out silky on the pallet and chocolatey in taste with hints of licorice, this beer finishes with a bold bourbon-esque flavor and warming alcohol in the throat. A truly complex beer. Syle background: Inspired by British brewers in the 1800's to win over the Russian Czar, this is the king of stouts, boasting high alcohol by volume and plenty of malt character. Huge roasted, chocolate and burnt malt flavours. Suggestions of dark fruit and flavors of higher alcohols are quite evident. Hop character can vary from none, to balanced to aggressive. Cheers to the Czar! Name Explanation: When six freshly emptied bourbon barrels arrive on your doorstep, what do you do? We chose to brew the biggest, boldest beer we could and age it gracefully until the barrels told us it was ready.
