Description: The 32nd installment of Orchid Island Brewery’s "Grove to Glass Craft Beer Project." Inspired by a blend of German Berliner Weisse and Belgian Farmhouse Ale. This modified kettle sour is 100% Brettanomyces primary fermented and treated with toasted honeybell wood cubes in the secondary. The honeybell wood comes through on the backside to round out the tartness with smooth notes of wood and vanilla. Super complex at only 3.2% ABV. It was a lot of fun heading out into the groves at the crack of dawn, chopping down a bunch of honeybell branches and processing them into slowly roasted wood chips. Truly a "Grove to Glass" craft beer experience for us.
