Description: Gyle 552: This Dark Island Reserve was brewed on March 11th 2013 and enjoyed a long, cool fermentation to 10% alc/vol in vessel No.6 at the Orkney Brewery. The small yield was then matured in refill Hogsheads, previously used to mature fine Highland Single Malt Whisky. Only 2820 bottles were produced. These were hand-bottled on the 15th May 2013. Classic Dark Island aromas of smooth roast malt, dark chocolate, figs and dates combine with vanilla, spice and bitter orange aromas from the wood and whisky.
