Description: James Brown would be proud of this latest (and funkiest) release from our barrel program. Bobblehead was inspired by the well-loved Trappist beer Orval and began its life as Maramis pale ale. Maramis pale, brewed with Mandarina Bavaria and Aramis hops, was racked into neutral oak barrels and inoculated with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis. After aging for 4 months and diligent tastings by our R&D brewer Whitney Burnside, the beer was carefully blended with our freshly dry hopped Silverspot IPA and our Peliweisse (a Berliner Weisse). Bobblehead has a very complex and unique aroma full of spice, leather, fruit, and citrus hops. The taste is bright and refreshing with a pleasant earthy quality and a soft malt profile. The beer lends a balanced hop bitterness, is slightly tart, and has a long dry finish.
