Description: Bourbon Barrel Aged Single Variety Golden Russet with black currents aged for a half year. This special cider began as a juice-sharing collaboration with Wandering Aengus cidery in Salem, ORE. Through the magic of friendship, we were able to procure some of their exclusive orchard-grown Golden Russet apples, from which we crafted a beautiful, strong, dry, single variety hard cider that comes across as the big daddy of our past SV efforts like Jonathan and Gravenstein. We then contacted our friends at Ransom Distillery, who released some fresh Emerald Whiskey barrels (Irish-American Whiskey finished in red wine barrels) in which to house our beautiful creation. Along with a plentiful helping of black currants, this cider rested for almost 6 months to infuse the tart/sweet flavor of the fruit and a healthy dose of brown spirit. The final product is exquisitely dry, complex, and bears a honest but tame sweetness from the tart berries. We've taken a break from sours to bring you something big, burly, and warming for these cold fall nights. This cider will be extremely ageable but is also ready to drink now.
