Description: This unique and limited offering takes on a twist for the 2012/2013 release. We brewed the Chicken Killer Barley Wine and aged it in Wild Turkey 101 bourbon barrels intentionally next to our “Los Innovadores” sour barrels for 10 months. Our brewing staff knew that this had the potential for crossing some of the sour flavors from the sour barrels into the Bourbon barrels and thought it would add complexity to the beer, making it a very “unique” elixir, perhaps unmatched in the craft beer world. After 10 months of aging the beer we tasted all the barrels and found that there was indeed a slight sour flavor on the front of the pallet with a more pronounced bourbon flavor on the back of the tongue. Through the bottle conditioning process the beer has now taken on a flavor that is remarkably complex, somewhat more sour than the beer directly out of the barrel, but truly something that will be different than any Bourbon Barrel Aged beer you have ever tried.
