Description: Missouri Sour Brown with Cherries and Vanilla Sakura is our first foray into adding fresh vanilla beans to a fruited Missouri Wild Ale. Even with all of our use of vanilla at Side Project, it took the persuasion of Rich, one of our brewers, to finally make this beer happen. Since Rich spearheaded this concept, he named the beer. Sakura is the Japanese word for cherry blossom, since he wanted us to use Michigan sweet cherries and blend it with our Missouri cultures on a softer, malty base for more than a year. We then finished it on more vanilla than we normally use in our stouts. The brewers are really happy with the result! We will definitely be experimenting more with these vanilla combinations in our funky beer and are excited to hear your responses to it!
