Description: Our latest version of Pale Ale is Extra Strong. In fact, dubbed Brutus XX Bitter, where XX means Extra, Extra Bitter. To balance this heavily hopped pale ale we used oats, both unmalted and malted oats...a unique variety from Scotland by our friends at Simpson’s Malting Co. While most oats used in brewing are unmalted adjuncts, Simpsons Golden Naked Oats® is actually a husk-less crystal malt. This unique malt has a subtle, nutty flavor with a subdued, grainy sweetness. Thus, the final beer develops a malty aroma similar to a pie crust. Also, berry fruit-like malt flavor with a mouth-feel that finishes round and silky smooth.
