Description: I was inspired to create an American Pale Ale dedicated to the Native American Indians when I found out that my great great-great grandfather was a Navajo Indian from the mid-west of America. He emigrated to Australia in the 1800s, around the time of the American Civil War, to stake his claim in the great Gympie Gold rush era and make and a better life for himself. In 1996, long before I knew that my ancestor was a native Indian I lived in Navajo country near the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley in Arizona. I had the honour of experiencing first hand their rich spiritual culture and beliefs deep entrenched in their psyche from thousands of years of surviving in the North American wilderness. My wife and I travelled through northern Arizona in 2004 and coincidentally proposed to her in monument valley. I have always felt a strong connection with this region. And when I had a vision one day of an Indian Chief standing proudly in his great western land I knew that that was the sign I was looking for in creating my first ever beer label. So to my ancestor and all the proud, dignified native Indians of the Americas, we at Stalwart Brewing Company here in Australia salute you and your amazing heritage. The Sacred Chief is born. Enjoy!
