Description: A classic Wessex style premium ale. Copper-red ale with a smooth and velvet sweet body and a refreshing balanced bitterness. Complex and rewarding malt tastes, with hints of roasted hazelnut, toffee and caramel. This beer was developed whilst studying the recipes from the long since defunct Bournemouth, Shaftesbury & Milton Abbas breweries and adding a little Sunny Republic sparkle along the way. The beer was named by the public via voting boxes in local pubs and on Facebook. The Dorset Cross is the County Flag and also St.Wite’s Cross (Dorset’s Patron Saint – St. Candida latinised). The bluey-purple text is the colour of Periwinkle flowers or “St.Candida’s Eyes” as they are known since they surround the saint’s grave.
