Description: How many breweries does it take to conceive of a modern-day interpretation on a nearly extinct, yet incredibly complex traditional British Strong Ale closely related to Barleywine and Old Ale? We once again teamed up with our friends at Cloudwater, Other Half, Monkish, and The Veil to brew Threads, a brightly acidic Stock Ale inspired by a rich history of English Brewing. Brewed back in March of 2017, Threads was aged in a variety of barrels including Bourbon, Apple Brandy, Rye, and Maple Bourbon. After nearly 30 months in oak, we thoughtfully blended portions from each to present a final beer that is incredibly thought-provoking and complex. Nearly three years in the making, Threads, alongside three single-adjunct variants, is now ready to be enjoyed. In the glass, Threads presents a deep chestnut color with a fleeting beige head. The aroma is enticingly layered, offering dark fruit notes up front, with a rich sherry character playing a complementary role. Fig, raisin, dried apricot, and black cherry approach the palate in waves. A hint of sweetness paired with a full-bodied mouthfeel is tempered by a bright lactic finish rounding out each sip.
