Description: The latest iteration in our Double Barrel Medianoche series began with a special Rye Medianoche base recipe, incorporating caramel rye, chocolate rye and malted rye into the mash bill. For the first round of aging, we rested the beer in freshly emptied 5-year MGP high-rye (36% rye) bourbon barrels for 15 months. To complement the unique notes imparted by the rye malt and high-rye bourbon barrels, we aged this batch for an additional 8 months in freshly emptied Cognac casks imported directly from France, coopered from medium plus toast French Limousin oak (Quercus robur), known for its unique expression of citrus and baking spices.
