Description: Bursting with bright, ripe blackberries and just enough tartness to keep things interesting, Double Blackberry Berliner is our latest color-outside-the-lines kettle sour. We started with a fairly traditional German Berliner Weisse base beer, brewed with 50% wheat malt and 50% Pilsen malt, inoculated with lactobacillus bacteria, and fermented with our house Hefeweizen yeast strain. But after that, we threw out the rule book and added lactose for body and an absurd amount of blackberry purée, resulting in a flavorful, complex, and surprisingly drinkable fruited sour that defies seasonality.
